Text: Zechariah 3:1-10.

The king’s heart is filled with sorrow, yet he portrays the image of a happy person (2 Kings 6:24-31). He walked about in total sadness; the situation of his people is very concerning to him. But he had a robe that covered his shame and pain. The king’s true situation became known when he came face to face with an insurmountable problem. Joshua in our text had a stained robe on him yet had to appear before the Lord. The stain on his robe was a condition of shame, stain and demonic tag on his ministry. But the Lord commanded, and the robe was changed. What situations are you going through known to you alone? What circumstances are you passing through that is keeping your head bowed in the dust? The Lord can remove that evil garment and replace it with a garment of praise.

Text: 2 Chronicles 20:13-30.

It took only praise to get the people of Israel the victory they seek from God. It is not about prayer or fasting, it was only a set of choir who sang beautiful songs of praise to the Lord for Israel to conquer their enemies. Jacob blessed Judah saying the scepter of leadership will not depart from him, his name means praise. God requires us all to praise Him with all of our heart (Ps 9:1; 111:1); with joy and gladness (Ps 63:5). But make sure it costs you something as you offer the sacrifice of praise (2 Samuel 24:24).

Text: Luke 17:11-19

Praising God is not just an act we are requested to do, it is the only reason we live. Praising Him opens doors that prayers cannot open. The story in the text is a typology of what God can do. Even though everyone has been healed of their leprosy, but one returned to say thank you to Jesus. He was told, that he is made whole. There is a difference between healing and been made whole. The miracle you seek is complete when you are made whole. Praises unlocks that great door. It was praise that delivered Paul and Silas, but it also made the family of the jailer whole. Prayer is very effectual and wrought great works. But praise works greater.

Text: Genesis 16:1-16

We live in a computer age as many will call it. It is fast paced that no one wants to understand that patience is a virtue necessary for living. Waiting looks like something of the past. That explains why people loose their faith when answers to prayers seems to delay. But acting outside of the will of God only attracts punishment. Even Sarah pushed her husband Abraham to take steps not authorized by God when their waiting for the promise of God for a child becomes unbearable for her. The whole world is suffering because of their singular mistake today. You never know what pains you are about to bring upon yourself and maybe your generations unborn when you take a step outside of the perfect will of God.

Who is a father? It is not enough to be able to get a woman pregnant to be called a father. A Christlike father nurtures his children in the fear of God, leading them in the path of righteousness, he is trustworthy, God fearing and a great role model. Most importantly, grants his children a healthy connection to the heavenly father.

Text: Philippians 3:1-21

Friendship starts from meeting someone, but it developed one way or the other and blossomed into a relationship of friendship. At a point, there was a decision to get to know one another better than just meeting. It takes time, commitment, deliberate steps aimed at knowing more about the other person. But there is also the part of opening up for the other person to know you. All these is also involved in our relationship with Christ. The only difference is that Jesus already knows us very well. Paul seeks to know Jesus the more, and even the power of His resurrection. He also explained to us that the power resides in us as Children of God (Ephesians 1:18 -). There is a reason to know the depth, the width, the length, height of the love of Jesus (Ephesians 3:17-19). There is a lot to be desired to be known of God. Do all diligence to seek and know Him. Whatever you are unable to give up for Him, it is an idol.

Text: Romans 16:17-27

Throughout the history of the church, there has been false teachers, false prophets, and gainsayers who pervert the truth. The only way to combat error is to establish the truth. The church must be grounded in the truth of the scripture. Paul the apostle said, if anyone preaches anything outside of what has been laid, such is accursed (Galatians 1:8). The old prophet deceived the younger one and destroyed his ministry (1Kings 13:18). Paul said we should study to show ourselves approved. It is important to be grounded in the truth of the gospel and live right.

Text: Mathew 25:1-13

All the ten virgins were qualified and regarded as virgins. They were all ready, and made preparations for the coming of the bridegroom. They all came with the hope of seeing the groom, and made frantic efforts. They all came by the entrance with lamps on their hands. Paul said he does not run like one who beats the air (1 Corinthians 9:23-27). But not all that runs wins the race. I pray you will not fail in Jesus name. Put aside every weight of sin, and run the race before you with patience. You will not miss the mark in Jesus name.

People do make a mistake thinking that worship is about the time of praise in the worship, singing slow songs of worship. But the scripture painted a different picture for us all. It is the only reason for our livelihood. It is offering our whole self as a living sacrifice unto Him. Worship is not only in the church, but at all times of our life. Jesus said it is in spirit and in truth. Abraham offered his only son in worship to God – this marks the first mention of the word in scripture (Genesis 22:5). Isaiah 29:13 declares that the people of Israel worshiped God only with their lips while their heart was far away. A heartfelt worship of total submission unto His will is what the Lord requires of us. God does not accept sacrifices of worship for unrepentant sinners (Psalm 66:18). A clean hand and pure heart is required to worship (Psalm 24:3-4).
